Start a Cat Career with our Nationally Accredited Feline Care & Behaviourist Qualifications.

Why Become a Feline Care & Behaviourist?

25% of the UK’s population own cats, and ownership numbers continue to rise significantly year on year, creating an ever-growing industry.  Increasingly more regulated – for those wanting to work within the feline industry it is essential to have Nationally Accredited Qualifications to go with knowledge and experience in feline care.

As a Qualified Feline Care & Behaviourist you will have detailed knowledge in feline grooming, first aid, welfare, handling, nutrition, behaviour and psychology giving you all the skills to succeed in the industry.

Suitable for those working with cats in welfare charities, veterinary practices or pet care services, and a requirement by law for those working in a cattery boarding business, the qualification is perfect for both new and experienced staff and employers in the feline industry.

Feline Care & Behaviour Course
How do you start?

No previous qualifications or experience necessary, students study the Ofqual Regulated Level 2 Award in Feline Care and Behaviour, or the Level 3 Award in Feline Care, Behaviour and Welfare Qualification.  Nationally Accredited by Open College Network – one of the nation’s leading awarding organisations.

A Requirement for Industry

As from the 1st October 2018, changes to the Animal Activity Licencing Regulations from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs necessitate that all Cattery staff, managers and owners must have an Ofqual regulated level 2 qualification in a relevant subject, or to meet the Higher Standard, a member of staff must have an Ofqual regulated Level 3 qualification.  These courses meet the exact criteria for this licence.

Furthermore, the Level 3 Qualification meets the criteria for the Higher Licencing Standard for your cattery business, which in turn gives you additional benefits – approval for longer licence, a higher star rating to promote your business to customers, lower licencing fees, and less regular inspections.

PLEASE BE AWARE – many other companies advertise ‘Level 2 and Level 3’ named courses, but only Ofqual Regulated Qualifications  – with a Qualification Number – meet the criteria for the licencing regulations.  The most simply way to determine this is by searching the qualification number on the Ofqual Government Website   https://register.ofqual.gov.uk/.

If companies cannot provide a qualification number, or cannot be found on the Ofqual Website, they are not Government Ofqual Regulated Qualifications.  Our Level 2 Award Qualification number is 603/4154/3 and our Level 3 Award Qualification number is 603/4264/X.
